The exact price is calculated from three main factors: the age of each insured person (risk varies by age bracket), the postal code of residence (each province has an official pricing zone based on local healthcare costs), and the number of people included on the same policy, who benefit from official family discounts.
The copay option (pay per use) lowers the fixed monthly premium by roughly 22% compared with the no-copay option. It's ideal if you rarely visit the doctor during the year. If you want a fully predictable monthly cost, or you have young children, the no-copay option is usually the better choice.
Yes. Sanitas applies family discounts based on the number of people insured: a 5% discount on the premium for 2 or 3 people insured, and an 8% discount for 4 or more. Additionally, choosing annual instead of monthly payment gets you a further 4% discount on the total.
Yes. The prices shown in our calculator are directly Sanitas's official prices (rates in effect for 2026). They are the insurer's direct prices, with no markup or commission added by our exclusive agency.
Private health insurance in Spain is exempt from VAT and from the Insurance Premium Tax (IPS). The only legal surcharge that applies is 0.15% for Spain's Insurance Compensation Consortium, a minimal amount of a few cents added to the base premium (the rates shown on this site correspond to Sanitas's official net premium before this surcharge).
