Sanitas Hospitals and Centres in Madrid: The Map by Area

Short answer: in the Community of Madrid, Sanitas has four hospitals of its own (La Zarzuela in Aravaca, La Moraleja in Sanchinarro, Virgen del Mar in Chamartín and Blua Valdebebas in Hortaleza), twelve of its own medical centres and a network of Centros de Rehabilitación Avanzada, its advanced rehabilitation centres. Around them sits a partner network that includes many of the region's large private hospitals. Here it all is by area (northwest, north, centre, south and east) with what changed in 2025 and 2026. That way you know what is close to you before you need it. What always counts is the current medical directory, which Sanitas publishes on sanitas.es and in the Mi Sanitas app. We are happy to check it with you whenever you like.

The Sanitas network in Madrid, area by area

Figures from the Sanitas renewal campaign of September 2026 and from the official websites of each hospital and centre, checked on 1 October 2026. The partner centres we mention are the main ones in each area, not the full list.

Own or partner: what changes day to day

When someone at our office asks “so which hospital would I go to?”, they are nearly always thinking of an emergency. The more useful question is a different one: what you have nearby for everyday things (your daughter's paediatrician, the yearly mammogram, physiotherapy for your knee) and where you would have surgery if you needed it. The answer has two layers. The first is the partner network, which in Spain is called concertado: hospitals, clinics and practices that don't belong to Sanitas but treat its policyholders when they show their card. They make up most of the medical directory. According to its September 2026 renewal campaign, Sanitas has 261 hospitals, more than 4,500 medical centres and more than 59,000 professionals across Spain.

The second layer is Sanitas's own network: the hospitals and centres that belong to Sanitas. Madrid is where it counts most, because four of its five own hospitals are here. At a Sanitas-owned centre the experience changes more than the cover does. Doctors across Sanitas's own network can see your electronic medical record, so the orthopaedic specialist already has the MRI you had at another Sanitas centre. You book and check in from Mi Sanitas, without phoning. Many centres offer care with or without an appointment (atención continuada) for things that don't need a hospital emergency department. At Sanitas's own hospitals you can check emergency waiting times online and in real time before you leave home.

The four Sanitas-owned hospitals in Madrid

Hospital Universitario Sanitas La Zarzuela (Calle Pléyades 25 in Aravaca) is the closest to our office. In 2026 it added 3 tesla and 1.5 tesla MRI scanners, the Mazor X robot for spinal surgery and the Rosa robot for hip and knee surgery. It also opened new units, such as one for adult ADHD and a sleep unit. Hospital Universitario Sanitas La Moraleja (Avenida Francisco Pi y Margall 81 in Sanchinarro) has expanded and refurbished its emergency department and added a cardiac surgery unit and a new hyperbaric chamber.

Hospital Universitario Virgen del Mar (Calle Honduras 14 in Chamartín) is the most central: open MRI, robotic surgery in several specialties and an Instituto de Traumatología for orthopaedics and trauma. Hospital Blua Sanitas Valdebebas (Calle Gustavo Pérez Puig 66 in Hortaleza) opened in June 2025 with 110 rooms (20 of them for mental health) and eight operating theatres. It has since opened a nuclear medicine department and has been accredited as a university hospital since April 2026. At La Zarzuela, La Moraleja and Virgen del Mar the TV in your room is also free for Sanitas clients. One caveat: a hospital having a robot or a hyperbaric chamber doesn't mean your policy covers them. The current Más Salud general terms and conditions exclude surgery with robotic equipment and hyperbaric chamber treatment today. For 2027 Sanitas adds multiport robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer procedures, with a cost share of €7,000 that you pay on top of the premium (Sanitas calls it PEG, participación en el gasto). You only have it if it appears in the latest version of your policy's terms and conditions, within its limits and exclusions. Our guide to Sanitas's own hospitals has the detail on each one and on the three that are on the way.

Northwest: Majadahonda, Las Rozas, Pozuelo, Boadilla and Aravaca

This is where our office is and the area we know best. If your child has a temperature on a Saturday morning in Las Rozas, your first stop doesn't have to be a hospital. Centro Médico Sanitas Las Rozas (Calle Copenhague 12) offers general medicine Monday to Friday until 21:00 and on Saturday mornings, with radiology and ultrasound in the same building. It gives same-day appointments for general medicine and paediatrics by phone: call the centre (91 372 62 00) or Sanitas customer service (91 752 28 52). If you need a hospital, La Zarzuela is a quarter of an hour from Majadahonda along the M-503.

In Boadilla del Monte, Centro Médico Sanitas Boadilla (inside the Ciudad Financiera business campus on Avenida Ciudad de Santander) also has a Centro de Rehabilitación Avanzada (CRA). Pozuelo has another CRA at Calle París 3. In 2025 Sanitas opened a new one next to La Zarzuela, at Camino de la Zarzuela 15. In the partner network, the northwest has hospitals close at hand such as Quirónsalud Pozuelo (called Quirónsalud Madrid until June 2026), HM Montepríncipe in Boadilla, HM Torrelodones and Los Madroños in Brunete. Addresses, opening hours and dental clinics for each town are in our northwest guide, linked at the end.

North: Sanchinarro, Montecarmelo, Las Tablas and Alcobendas

In the north, Sanitas's own hospital is La Moraleja. Around it are three centres worth knowing if you live in Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes or the new neighbourhoods of Fuencarral. Centro Médico Sanitas Alcobendas (Bulevar Salvador Allende 2) has walk-in general medicine and paediatrics Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 20:30 and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:00. It also has a Centro de Rehabilitación Avanzada. The Montecarmelo centre (Avenida Monasterio de Silos 75) also has a CRA and offers walk-in general medicine Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 21:00. And Las Tablas (Calle Valcarlos 15) has another CRA, which now also offers nutrition consultations.

For a family in the area, that means afternoon paediatrics, physiotherapy and the hospital are all a few minutes from home. Highlights of the partner network in the north include HM Sanchinarro, Clínica CEMTRO (in Fuencarral) and the Quirónsalud Olympia medical and surgical centre (on Paseo de la Castellana, next to the Cuatro Torres skyscrapers).

Centre: Chamberí, Salamanca, Chamartín and Moncloa

If you work in the centre, it is often most practical to have your doctor near your work. And you can: the medical directory has no municipal borders. In the centre of the city Sanitas has five medical centres of its own: Conde Duque (Calle Conde Duque 21), Nicasio Gallego (Calle Nicasio Gallego 8-10 in Chamberí), Núñez de Balboa (Calle Núñez de Balboa 108 in Salamanca), Reina Victoria (Calle Beatriz de Bobadilla 9) and Costa Rica (Plaza de José María Soler 7 in Chamartín). For physiotherapy and rehabilitation there are the Centros de Rehabilitación Avanzada at Fortuny, Isaac Peral, Castellana, Serrano and Doctor Esquerdo. The last of these has added nutrition and psychology consultations.

The Sanitas hospital for this area is Virgen del Mar. The partner network here is the densest in the region: Hospital HM Madrid, Quirónsalud San José, Hospital San Rafael, Complejo Hospitalario Ruber Juan Bravo, Nuestra Señora del Rosario, San Francisco de Asís, Quirónsalud La Luz, Beata María Ana and Viamed Santa Elena, among others. Recent additions to the directory also include the IDEI dermatology centres.

South: Arganzuela, Alcorcón, Móstoles, Getafe and Fuenlabrada

The south is where Sanitas's own network has grown most in a short time. Centro Médico Sanitas Pirámides opened in October 2024 at Paseo de los Melancólicos 30 (Arganzuela): 1,912 square metres with MRI, mammography, ultrasound and radiology, day surgery with an endoscopy suite and a dental unit. A few minutes away is the Acacias CRA (Paseo de las Acacias 12), which has also added nutrition. Further southwest, Centro Médico Sanitas Alcorcón is on Avenida de la Libertad, at the corner with Concepción Arenal.

In the partner network, people living in the south have HM Puerta del Sur in Móstoles, Quirónsalud Sur in Alcorcón and Policlínico HM Getafe. Among the new additions Sanitas highlights this year in the Madrid directory are the Ibermedic medical centres, which have served the south of the region since 1988. They have centres in Móstoles, Getafe, Leganés, Fuenlabrada and Villaviciosa de Odón. Looking further ahead, Sanitas has announced Hospital Sanitas Arganzuela (next to the M-30 ring road), expected to open in 2029. Until it opens it is a project, so it makes sense to decide based on what already works.

East and northeast: Valdebebas, Hortaleza, Arturo Soria, the Henares corridor and Rivas

Valdebebas brings together Sanitas's newest own hospital, one of its most recent Centros de Rehabilitación Avanzada and Centro Médico Sanitas Valdebebas, next to the hospital. The medical centre is at Avenida de Juan Antonio Samaranch 85 and offers walk-in general medicine Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 21:00. Hortaleza also has the Gran Vía de Hortaleza CRA, with nutrition consultations. Valdebebas is also one of the two places where Sanitas has launched remote skin diagnosis: you send a photo of the skin lesion that worries you, and a professional assesses it and uploads the report without you having to come in.

The partner network in the east includes HM Nuevo Belén, Hospital Vithas Arturo Soria and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Madrid is there too, and you access it by taking out its specific add-on. Further east are HM Vallés in Alcalá de Henares and Hospital Quirónsalud Valle del Henares in Torrejón de Ardoz, with its medical centre. And in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, Centro Médico Lagos de Rivas has joined the directory. You can also book there online from Mi Sanitas.

What's new in 2025 and 2026: what changes for you

For families living with a mental health condition, this year's biggest change in Madrid is the new Mental Health Unit at Hospital Blua Sanitas Valdebebas, with twenty dedicated rooms. It coincides with new cover for 2027: psychiatric hospitalisation rises from 50 to 60 days a year, counting overnight admissions and day-hospital days together. Day hospital care also opens up to psychosis, borderline personality disorder and severe depression. Like any new cover, you only have it if it appears in the latest version of your policy's terms and conditions, within its limits and exclusions. In the Más Salud general terms we work with today the limit is 50 days, so if this affects you we will go through it with your policy in front of us.

For emergencies in the north, Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja has expanded and refurbished its emergency department. And day to day there are two small improvements you will notice. More and more partner centres in Madrid let you book online in Mi Sanitas, including laboratories such as Synlab, Megalab, Unilabs, Goya Análisis and Diagnoslab. And if you need a doctor at home, Sanitas's 24-hour home medical service (Servicio Médico 24 Horas) coordinates urgent home visits by doctors and ambulances in Madrid. For many of those call-outs you can follow in Mi Sanitas where the doctor or ambulance is and when it is expected to arrive.

Before you go, or before you sign up: check your centre

Before switching to Sanitas, many people come to us with a name: their gynaecologist, the surgeon who operated on their mother, the hospital where their children were born. This guide works as a map, not as a contract. The medical directory that counts for your policy is the one Sanitas publishes at sanitas.es/seguros/cuadro-medico and in the Mi Sanitas app. It is updated throughout the year, and a partner centre can join or leave. We check it with you using your postcode and the specialty that matters to you, before you sign anything and at no cost.

There are also two details worth knowing. To be admitted to any of these hospitals you need a policy that includes hospitalisation. For example, Sanitas Avanza covers consultations, tests and more than 400 procedures without admission, but not hospitalisation. And for highly complex surgery (neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and spinal surgery) the Más Salud general terms provide that Sanitas designates the centre and the surgical team in each case. In a life-threatening emergency your health comes first. If you have to be admitted to a hospital outside the directory, let Sanitas know as soon as possible so it can move you to a partner centre once your condition allows.

Addresses and opening hours can change, so confirm them before you go. The partner centres mentioned are a selection; the current medical directory is on sanitas.es and in Mi Sanitas. New 2027 cover only applies if it appears in the latest version of your policy's terms and conditions. Common questions

Direct answers, the same we give at the office.

I live in the south of Madrid: which Sanitas hospital is most convenient for me?

Today Sanitas's four own hospitals in Madrid are in the north, the northeast, the west and the centre, so in the south people usually combine options. For an emergency in Móstoles, Alcorcón or Getafe, a nearby partner hospital such as HM Puerta del Sur or Quirónsalud Sur is usually the practical choice. For consultations and tests you have Sanitas's own medical centres in Pirámides (Arganzuela) and Alcorcón. If your policy includes hospitalisation, you can go to a Sanitas-owned hospital for planned surgery even if it is further away. The exception is highly complex procedures, where Sanitas designates the centre. Hospital Sanitas Arganzuela (expected in 2029) will change this map.

Can I go to a Sanitas centre without an appointment if it isn't an emergency?

At several of them, yes. Sanitas calls it atención continuada: a general medicine consultation (at some centres paediatrics too) for things that can't wait for an appointment but don't need a hospital emergency department either, like a fever, a urinary infection or a mild sprain. Alcobendas, Montecarmelo and Valdebebas have weekday afternoon and evening hours, and Alcobendas also opens on Saturday mornings. In Las Rozas you book a same-day appointment by phone: call the centre (91 372 62 00) or Sanitas customer service (91 752 28 52). Opening hours change, so check your centre's hours on its website or in Mi Sanitas before you go, or ask us on WhatsApp.

Is everything a Centro de Rehabilitación Avanzada offers covered by my policy?

Not everything, and it is worth knowing before you book. Sanitas's CRAs bring together physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation, biomechanical assessment, podiatry, nutrition, psychology and a rehabilitation doctor. The physiotherapy covered by Sanitas Más Salud is outpatient care for musculoskeletal conditions, as long as it isn't a chronic or degenerative process. It continues until the best possible recovery set by your rehabilitation doctor. Shockwave therapy for chronic bone and tendon injuries has a maximum of five sessions per joint per year, with prior authorisation. Other services at the centre may be charged separately: ask us with your policy to hand and we will tell you what is included.

Are Clínica Universidad de Navarra and MD Anderson in the Sanitas network in Madrid?

Both are among the Madrid partner centres that Sanitas highlights in its September 2026 renewal campaign. There is one important difference: you access Clínica Universidad de Navarra by taking out a specific add-on, which is added to your health insurance. At any partner hospital, what decides whether you are treated for a specific condition is the medical directory of your product and what your terms and conditions cover. If you are considering the Clínica Universidad de Navarra add-on, we will prepare its conditions in writing for you before you decide.

How can I check the emergency waiting time before I leave home?

At Sanitas's own hospitals (La Zarzuela, La Moraleja, Virgen del Mar and Blua Valdebebas) you can check the emergency waiting time online and in real time. If two are at a similar distance, you choose the less busy one. And before you go, consider whether your problem can be solved without leaving home: with the policy you have 24-hour emergency video consultations in the Mi Sanitas app for adults and children, and the doctor can prescribe or order tests from there. If it is serious, don't wait: call 112 (the emergency number in Spain).

Do I pay more for living near a Sanitas-owned hospital, or for using one?

No. The Sanitas premium depends on the province, the age of each insured person, the plan with or without copays and the number of people on the policy. It doesn't depend on the hospital next to you or on whether you use a Sanitas-owned centre or a partner one. Whether you live in Majadahonda, Vallecas or Alcalá de Henares, you pay the Madrid rate. To get your exact figure, enter your postcode and date of birth in the calculator on this website: the official price comes up in a minute, without asking for your phone number.
