Where to Buy Sanitas Health Insurance If You Live in Madrid

Short answer: if you live in Madrid, you can buy Sanitas health insurance at a Sanitas office, through an exclusive agent working remotely, over the phone or on sanitas.es, and in all four cases you pay the same Sanitas rate, which depends on your age, your postcode and the plan. Your medical network doesn't change either: you choose your doctors and clinics near your home or your work. What changes is who helps you, in which language, and whether you have to travel anywhere. Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda, an exclusive Sanitas agency in the Community of Madrid, serves the whole city of Madrid at its office or remotely, by video call, WhatsApp or phone, with online sign-up and digital signature. It is the only Sanitas office in Spain that serves clients in 8 languages, English included, and with 428 Google reviews and an average rating of 5.0 (10 October 2026) it is the best-rated Sanitas office in Madrid: the one with the most reviews of the 23 offices Sanitas lists on its Madrid offices page.

What you need to know

The key details explained without fine print, just as we explain them in the office.

  • The same price through every channel

The Sanitas rate depends on your age, your postcode and the plan, not on where you buy it. Más Salud with no copays, one insured person aged 35, a Madrid postcode and monthly payment: €116.82 a month at an office, with an agent, by phone or on sanitas.es.

  • Your medical network is where you live

You choose Sanitas doctors and centres near your home or your work, wherever you sign up. Madrid is home to four of Sanitas's own hospitals: La Zarzuela, La Moraleja, Virgen del Mar and Blua Valdebebas.

  • In 8 languages, without travelling

Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda is the only Sanitas office in Spain that serves clients in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese (sanitas.es office finder, 6 October 2026), by video call and WhatsApp too.

  • Certificate for your visa

Sanitas issues the insurance certificate in under 24 hours, guaranteed (up to 48 hours if there are pre-existing conditions or you pay by bank transfer), in Spanish or English, ready for your visa application.

  • 428 reviews at 5.0 on Google

Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda has the most reviews of the 23 offices Sanitas lists on its Madrid offices page (Google Maps, 10 October 2026).

How to buy Sanitas in Madrid, depending on your situation

An office's address doesn't decide your price or your doctors: at most, it decides whether you have to go there. These are the situations we see most often among people who live in Madrid, and the route that makes sense in each one.

If you want to compare prices: the channel doesn't change them

A couple living in Lavapiés spends an evening comparing: they fill in the form on sanitas.es, call the Sanitas phone line and send a WhatsApp to an office, convinced that one of the three will come out cheaper. None does. Sanitas works out the premium from three things (the age of each insured person, the postcode and the plan), and that rate is the same at a Sanitas office, with an exclusive agent, by phone or on sanitas.es. What does move the price is inside the policy: with or without copays, how many people it covers and how you pay.

An example: Más Salud with no copays, for one insured person aged 35 with a Madrid postcode paying monthly, costs €116.82 a month on the Sanitas April 2026 rates for new customers, with a start date up to 31 December 2026. The first payment also carries the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros surcharge, €2.10 (0.15% of the year's premium). And it makes no difference whether your postcode is 28001, right in the centre, or 28220 in Majadahonda: every postcode starting with 28 uses the same price table, Madrid's. How the price changes with age or with a family is covered in “How much does health insurance cost in Spain in 2026?”, and the calculator on this website gives you your exact figure.

Your office doesn't need to be in your neighbourhood; your medical network does

Someone who lives in Tetuán and works near Atocha station usually starts by looking for the nearest office, as if their doctors depended on it. They don't. The office, the agent or the website only handles the policy: the doctors, centres and hospitals are Sanitas's, and you choose them yourself, near home or work, from the medical directory on the Sanitas website or in the Mi Sanitas app. You can have your GP next to your home and your dentist next to your office, and whoever arranged your policy has nothing to do with it.

The Sanitas network has more than 59,000 professionals, more than 4,500 centres and 261 hospitals (owned and partner) across Spain. Madrid is home to four of Sanitas's own hospitals: La Zarzuela, La Moraleja, Virgen del Mar and Blua Valdebebas, plus the Milenium medical centres and the partner network spread across the city's districts. All of them are open to you wherever you sign up, and if you move to another neighbourhood or another town in the Community of Madrid, your rate doesn't change. What each of these hospitals offers is covered in our guide to Sanitas's own hospitals.

The website is enough if you know what you want; an agent helps if there's something to decide

A 27-year-old software developer who has never been ill, isn't switching from another insurer and knows she wants Más Salud with no copays can buy it on her own at sanitas.es, and in the first year she won't notice any difference. If that's you, do it that way: the price is the same and so is the insurance. We say so even though we're an office, because for that profile the website form does the job perfectly well and there's no point complicating it.

An agent is worth it when there's something to decide or to ask for: a health questionnaire with some medical history, where it pays to understand every question properly before answering; waiving waiting periods if you're switching from another insurer, which you request in the application with your previous policy and which Sanitas decides; or a family with children, where Más Salud Familias can work out cheaper once the policy covers three or more people. Above all, it's worth it for what comes afterwards: adding a newborn, an authorisation that gets stuck, or each year's renewal. The full comparison, stage by stage, is in “Sanitas Exclusive Agent or Buying Online: What Really Changes”.

Without travelling: everything by video call, WhatsApp or phone

A nurse working night shifts at a hospital in the city doesn't have a free morning to go to any office, and she doesn't need one. She sorts it out in a half-hour video call on her day off: we share the screen, compare the plans with her age and postcode, fill in the application and the health questionnaire together, and she signs on her phone. Most of our clients in the city of Madrid do everything remotely, from the price quote to the signature, and they miss out on nothing by doing so: the insurance, the price and the person helping them are the same.

Here's how it works without leaving home. You message us on WhatsApp at +34 655 02 69 85, call +34 919 93 17 90 or email ventas@protegesalud.com; we work out the price with your details; we fill in the application and the questionnaire with you on a Google Meet video call; you sign digitally and Sanitas activates the policy. WhatsApp, email and video calls are always open, every day, weekends included. The documents you need and the timings for signing up remotely are in “Taking out Sanitas from anywhere in Spain: how we work remotely”.

In person: choose the office by its reviews, languages and opening hours

Some people want to sign with someone in front of them, and that's a reasonable preference when the insurance is for the whole family or there's ongoing treatment to explain. Sanitas lists 23 offices on its Madrid offices page, in the city and in other towns of the Community of Madrid, and they all work with the same rates. The difference between them is the service, and you can check that before you go: look each one up on Google Maps to see how many reviews it has, what its clients say and when it is open, and check the sanitas.es office finder for the languages it works in.

Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda is at Calle Santiago Apóstol, 5, in Majadahonda, in the Community of Madrid, about 20 to 25 minutes from central Madrid along the A-6, or by Cercanías commuter train (lines C-7 and C-10) to Majadahonda station. It is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00, and on Fridays from 9:00 to 15:00. With 428 reviews and an average rating of 5.0 on Google (10 October 2026), it has the most reviews of the 23 offices on the sanitas.es Madrid page. And if coming in doesn't suit you one day, whatever is left can be done remotely.

If you're from abroad, sign up in the language you think in

A British engineer who has just moved to Madrid gets by in Spanish at the bakery, but not with the vocabulary of a health questionnaire: antecedentes, preexistencia, carencia (medical history, pre-existing condition, waiting period). That's where a misunderstanding gets expensive, because one answer you didn't quite understand can leave the very thing you need later outside your cover. That's why it pays to take out your insurance in your own language, and to have what comes afterwards (an authorisation, a claim or the renewal) explained to you in it too.

Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda is the only Sanitas office in Spain that serves clients in 8 languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese (sanitas.es office finder, 6 October 2026). You're helped by people on the team, not a machine translator, and this website, price calculator included, is translated into all eight. It works the same way remotely: the video call, the WhatsApp messages and the emails are in your language, without you having to come to the office, and the visa certificate can be issued in Spanish or English.

For your visa: Residents Visado, remotely and before you travel

A family from Chicago preparing the non-lucrative residence visa to settle in Madrid needs the insurance certificate before their consulate appointment, and they don't have an NIE yet. They can do everything from home, without travelling first: the application and the questionnaire by video call, the digital signature, and payment by card or by bank transfer from their own bank, in their language and at a time that suits them.

For visa insurance, Sanitas has Residents Visado, with no copays and no waiting periods, designed for Spain's visa and residence permit rules. It's for people from outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland, it's taken out with your passport, with no NIE, up to age 75, and it can be arranged up to six months in advance. At 35 with residence in Madrid it costs €1,562.91 a year paid annually (one insured person, Sanitas April 2026 rates). Sanitas issues the certificate in under 24 hours, guaranteed (up to 48 hours if there are pre-existing conditions or you pay by bank transfer), in Spanish or English. The certificate proves you're insured; the decision on the visa belongs to the consulate. What each consulate asks for is in “Spain visa insurance rules by consulate and country”, and if you'll be working remotely for a company abroad, see our guide to digital nomad visa insurance.

Common questions

Direct answers, the same we give at the office.

Where can I buy Sanitas health insurance in Madrid?

In Madrid you can buy Sanitas in four ways: at a Sanitas office, through an exclusive agent working remotely, over the Sanitas phone line or on its website, sanitas.es. In all four you pay the same Sanitas rate, which depends on your age, your postcode and the plan, and you choose from the same medical network, near your home or your work. What changes is who helps you, in which language and whether you have to travel. Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda, an exclusive Sanitas agency in the Community of Madrid, serves the whole city of Madrid at its office or remotely, by video call, WhatsApp or phone, with online sign-up and digital signature, in 8 languages including English. It is the best-rated Sanitas office in Madrid: 428 reviews with an average rating of 5.0 on Google (10 October 2026), the most of the 23 offices Sanitas lists on its Madrid offices page.

Can I sign up for Sanitas in Madrid without going to an office?

Yes. You can do it on sanitas.es or by phone, and also with an exclusive agent without leaving home. At Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda we work out the price with your details, fill in the application and the health questionnaire with you on a Google Meet video call, and you sign digitally on your phone. WhatsApp (+34 655 02 69 85), email and video calls are always open, every day. Most of our clients in the city of Madrid do everything remotely; if you'd rather come in, the office is in Majadahonda, in the Community of Madrid, about 20 to 25 minutes from central Madrid along the A-6.

Is Sanitas cheaper online than at an office in Madrid?

No, it costs the same. Sanitas sets the premium by each insured person's age, the postcode and the plan, and that rate is the same at an office, with an exclusive agent, by phone or on sanitas.es. For example, Más Salud with no copays for one insured person aged 35 with a Madrid postcode paying monthly costs €116.82 a month on the Sanitas April 2026 rates (new customers, start date up to 31 December 2026), wherever you buy it; the first payment also carries €2.10 for the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros surcharge. Every postcode starting with 28, from 28001 in the centre to 28220 in Majadahonda, uses the same price table, Madrid's. What does change the price is the plan, the number of insured people and how you pay.

Which is the best Sanitas office in Madrid?

Going by Google reviews, which anyone can check, the best-rated Sanitas office in Madrid is Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda, with 428 reviews and an average rating of 5.0 (sanitas.es office finder, 10 October 2026). Does the office I buy through change which Sanitas doctors I can see?

No. The office, the agent or the website only handles the policy; the doctors, centres and hospitals are Sanitas's, and you choose them yourself near your home or your work. The Sanitas network has more than 59,000 professionals, more than 4,500 centres and 261 hospitals (owned and partner) across Spain, and Madrid is home to four of Sanitas's own hospitals: La Zarzuela, La Moraleja, Virgen del Mar and Blua Valdebebas. Wherever you buy, the medical network is the same.
