We checked the addresses and opening hours of the Sanitas centres on their websites on 15 October 2026. The partner hospitals and centres, the agreed appointment times and the services for inpatients come from Sanitas's information for its 2027 renewal campaign (September 2026). The medical directory changes during the year: before you go, confirm it in the Mi Sanitas app or with us.

Sanitas's own medical centre in Valencia has advanced rehabilitation

If you injure your knee playing padel, it is handy to have the orthopaedic specialist, the MRI and the physiotherapy in the same building. That is what Centro Médico Sanitas Valencia offers at 69-71 Avenida de Baleares. It has 3,500 square metres with 27 consulting rooms and a day-surgery operating theatre with recovery rooms. For diagnostic imaging it has MRI, a mammography unit with tomosynthesis, ultrasound and a bone densitometer. It adds a dentistry and oral surgery unit and a Centro de Rehabilitación Avanzada (advanced rehabilitation centre) with physiotherapy and shockwave therapy.

General medicine and paediatrics see patients without an appointment from Monday to Saturday. On weekdays adults are seen from 8:00 and children from 9:00. On Saturdays the hours are 9:00 to 14:00. If you plan to go late in the afternoon, write to us first and we will confirm the closing time. Specialists are by appointment, booked by chat, from Mi Sanitas or on the centre's phone line (96 352 09 07). It has its own car park and also sees people who are not Sanitas clients. If you live in the Vega Baja, Centro Médico Sanitas Murcia is also within easy reach. It has its own Centro de Rehabilitación Avanzada.

Alicante will have its own Sanitas medical centre in summer 2027

Sanitas plans to open its first medical centre in the city of Alicante in summer 2027. It will be in the former Canal 9 building (Avenida de Aguilera 22). It will have 3,423 square metres with 16 consulting rooms, an operating theatre and an endoscopy suite (Sanitas press release of January 2026). For imaging it will have MRI, mammography, conventional radiology, ultrasound and bone densitometry. It will also offer walk-in care, a Centro de Rehabilitación Avanzada and a dental clinic. Sanitas estimates that it will be able to see up to 40,000 patients a year.

In the meantime the province has five Sanitas dental clinics. They are in Alicante (in El Corte Inglés on Federico Soto), Benidorm, Elche, San Vicente del Raspeig and Torrevieja. The El Corte Inglés clinic is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00 and the other four Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 21:00. With any announced opening our advice is the same: choose your insurance for what you have near home today. The new centre will come to your policy as an improvement, without you having to change anything.

From Torrevieja to Denia: the directory's hospitals on the Costa Blanca

In the province of Alicante, the Sanitas partner network relies on the large private hospital groups. In the city there are Hospital Vithas Internacional Medimar, Hospital Vithas Perpetuo Socorro, Clínica Vistahermosa and Centro Médico Quirónsalud Alicante. In Elche there is Hospital IMED Elche. In Benidorm you have Hospital IMED Levante and HCB Benidorm. In the Marina Alta there are HCB Denia, Hospital San Carlos in Denia and Policlínica IMED Teulada. In Villajoyosa there is the IMED International Center and in Alcoy the IMED centre. In the Vega Baja you have Hospital Quirónsalud Torrevieja and Policlínica IMED Torrevieja.

So that you don't have to depend on the phone, 35 centres and professionals in the province offer online booking. They include the IMED and HCB groups. Many specialists also offer digital consultations. That is very handy for going over test results without travelling.

Appointment times agreed with Sanitas in the province of Alicante

Imagine you live in Denia and in the middle of August a mark appears on your skin. What you want to know is how long you will wait for the dermatologist. That is why Sanitas has appointment commitments with several centres in the province. In the IMED group it is five working days for the core specialties and ten for the rest. IMED also has an exclusive phone line for these appointments. At HCB Benidorm and HCB Denia the commitment is seven working days for the core specialties and ten for the rest. At Hospital San Carlos in Denia it is seven and fifteen. HCB Benidorm, HCB Denia and San Carlos also set aside one day a week of dermatology with appointments exclusively for Sanitas clients.

In paediatrics the Creciendo centre commits to giving an appointment within three working days. In diagnostic imaging, Inscanner gives the appointment and the report for MRI and CT scans within 72 hours. These are Sanitas commitments with those centres and they depend on their schedules. Say you are with Sanitas when you book. If you ever can't get a slot within the agreed time, write to us and we will sort it out with Sanitas.

If you are admitted: a patient manager and extras for whoever is with you

When an admission comes out of the blue, the family appreciates someone guiding them. Sanitas has an exclusive patient manager at Hospital IMED Levante in Benidorm. They accompany you during your stay. They also speed up any consultation and test appointments you need and hand them to you directly. At the IMED and HCB hospitals and at San Carlos in Denia, the staff also check in on the inpatient every day. In the Más Salud range and in Residents, the general terms and conditions provide for a private room with a bed for a companion when you stay overnight in hospital. The exceptions are the ICU, incubators and psychiatric admissions.

Sanitas has also agreed some extras for inpatients with IMED Levante and IMED Elche, with Vithas Medimar and Vithas Perpetuo Socorro and with HCB, Vistahermosa and San Carlos. They vary from one centre to another. There is a welcome letter and a client badge in the room, and a toiletry bag. There is breakfast for the companion and full board for one companion when the inpatient is a child. Parking is free or comes with two hours discounted, and TV and internet are free. If you give birth at IMED Elche, a bouquet of flowers and a gift for the baby also await you. A planned admission needs a prescription from a doctor in the directory and prior authorisation from Sanitas. Ask us for it on WhatsApp and we process it with you.

Valencia and Castellón: hospitals, priority appointments and the dentist

In the province of Valencia the directory brings together the IMED Valencia, IMED Gandía and IMED Colón hospitals. From the Vithas group there are its 9 de Octubre, Virgen del Consuelo and Aguas Vivas hospitals. There is also its medical centre in Alzira. Hospital Quirónsalud Valencia and Hospital La Salud complete the hospital network. There are priority appointments at IMED Valencia: a consultation in under ten working days and tests in under 72 hours. IMSKE gives them in under fourteen days. Clínica Tecma, Clínica Oftalmológica Rahal and Sermesa also offer priority appointments. In urology Urosalud gives them, and in dermatology Franderma. Among the new additions Sanitas announces are Hospital Ascires and the Tekderma dermatology institute in Bétera.

In Castellón the reference hospital is Hospital Vithas Castellón. Art Clínic Centro Médico Quirúrgico and Blomedic give Sanitas clients priority appointments. For the dentist there are nine Sanitas clinics in the province of Valencia: six in the city and the other three in Puerto de Sagunto, Paterna and Torrent. The El Corte Inglés clinics at Colón and Nuevo Centro are open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00. The Palau clinic also opens on Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00, and the rest Monday to Friday with morning and afternoon hours. Centro Médico Sanitas Valencia also has its dentistry unit. In Castellón de la Plana the Sanitas clinic is on Plaza de Cardona Vives and is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 21:00.

What doesn't depend on the province: the app, emergencies and the 2027 cover

In Jávea, Gandía or Vila-real the policy works the same as in Madrid. You carry the digital card in the Mi Sanitas app and you have Blua's 24-hour emergency service by video, phone or chat. After the consultation the doctor can write your prescription. The policy also covers urgent care at home by a family doctor or a nurse wherever Sanitas has the service under contract. In Valencia you can already follow the emergency doctor on the way to your home from Mi Sanitas, and in Alicante the emergency ambulance. For most call-outs you see in real time where they are and when they will arrive. Sanitas will gradually extend this to the other provinces.

The new cover Sanitas announces for 2027 doesn't depend on where you live either, but on your policy. You only have it if it appears in the latest version of your policy's terms and conditions, and always within its limits and exclusions. Foreign residents on the Costa Blanca and in Valencia: residence and visa insurance

Think of a couple who live in Benidorm from October to May and spend the summers in their home country. There are many neighbours like them on the Costa Blanca and in Valencia. A Sanitas policy is for people who live in Spain: the general terms and conditions end it if you move your residence abroad or if you do not live here for at least six months a year. If, like them, you live here most of the year, you take out the same range as any resident of Alicante or Valencia. Más Salud is taken out with a health questionnaire and up to age 75. If you only spend the winter here, tell us beforehand and we will find what fits.

Others come to Jávea, Altea or Benicàssim to stay, with non-lucrative residence. That process requires insurance with no copays and no waiting periods. Sanitas Residents Visado meets both conditions and also includes repatriation. You can take it out up to age 75 and up to six months in advance. Sanitas issues the certificate for the consulate or the immigration office (Extranjería) in under 24 hours, guaranteed (up to 48 hours if there are pre-existing conditions or you pay by bank transfer). How to sign up from Alicante or Valencia with an office in Majadahonda

Oficina Sanitas Majadahonda is an exclusive Sanitas agency in the Community of Madrid. Many of our clients have never set foot in the office. From Alicante or Valencia you work out your price with your postcode and message us on WhatsApp or ask us to call you. We finalise it by phone or video call. We prepare the Sanitas application for you and you only have to sign it and send us the DNI, NIE or passport of each insured person. With complete paperwork, sign-up usually takes under 12 hours and often happens within the hour. It can take longer if there is a health declaration or the payment is pending. Afterwards you have the same person for an authorisation, adding a baby or the certificate to renew your TIE.

Coming from another insurer that operates in Spain? Ask us about having your waiting periods waived. It is requested from Sanitas when you sign up and the company decides. You need to have been on the previous policy for at least a year and to move from one to the other without a break. It does not apply with insurance from another country. Does Sanitas have its own hospital in Valencia or Alicante?

No. Sanitas's five own hospitals are in Madrid and Barcelona. In the Valencia region the own network is Centro Médico Sanitas Valencia and the Sanitas dental clinics. The Alicante medical centre will join them when it opens (planned for summer 2027). Admissions take place in partner hospitals such as Vithas Internacional Medimar, IMED Levante, HCB Benidorm or Quirónsalud Valencia. At a centre in the medical directory you show the card in the app and Sanitas pays the centre directly. You don't pay for the care upfront or claim back invoices.

I live in Alicante: can I go to the Valencia medical centre or to the hospitals in Madrid?

Yes. Your policy is valid throughout the Sanitas medical directory in Spain. With the same card you can go to Centro Médico Sanitas Valencia or to La Zarzuela and La Moraleja in Madrid. The Sanitas network has 261 hospitals, more than 4,500 centres and more than 59,000 professionals (own and partner) across Spain. Before a test or a procedure, check whether it needs authorisation: we arrange it for you from the office. Travel and accommodation are at your own expense. The general terms and conditions exclude travel expenses, except the ambulance costs the policy provides for.

What do I do if I have an emergency at night on the Costa Blanca?

If it is life-threatening, call 112. If it isn't, start with the Mi Sanitas app: the Sanitas emergency service sees you by phone or video consultation 24 hours a day. After the consultation it can write your prescription. If needed, it coordinates sending a doctor or an ambulance to your home wherever Sanitas has the service under contract. For hospital emergencies, check in the app which directory hospitals with an emergency department you have nearby, and save them before you need them.

I'm going to live in Alicante or Valencia with non-lucrative residence. What insurance do I need?

The policy designed for that process is Sanitas Residents Visado. It has no waiting periods or copays, includes repatriation and gives access to the Sanitas medical directory in Spain. Sanitas issues the certificate for the consulate or the immigration office (Extranjería) in under 24 hours, guaranteed (up to 48 hours if there are pre-existing conditions or you pay by bank transfer). It can be taken out up to age 75 and up to six months in advance. We arrange it remotely, even from your country before you travel. When you arrive you will already have the card in the Mi Sanitas app.

How much does Sanitas cost in Alicante, Valencia or Castellón?

It depends on the age of each insured person, the plan (with or without copays) and how many people are on the policy. Sanitas also sets its rates by province. In the 2026 Más Salud rates Valencia and Castellón have their own prices and Alicante is priced like most provinces. None of the three is priced like Madrid. That's why you shouldn't go by what someone pays in another city. In the calculator you enter your postcode and your date of birth and you have your price in a minute. Will I be able to use the Alicante centre when it opens if I sign up now?

Yes. Sanitas's own medical centres are part of its medical directory. When the Alicante centre opens you will be able to book an appointment with your policy card without changing anything. The opening is planned for summer 2027, and building work can be delayed. That's why we advise you to choose your insurance for what you have near home today.
